York County As Art Show Notes
Hello, and welcome to Southern York County Podcast – your podcast – being recorded from the Mason Dixon library in Stewartstown, PA. With us this month is artist Mary Swann from Monkton, MD who paints landscapes of rural York County. A graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, she was represented in Baltimore for many years by the former Paper Rock Scissors and Gomez Galleries. In 2001 she was Visiting Artist at Maryland Institute College of Art summer program in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. In 1996-97, she was among the first artists to work at Goya Girl Press whose prints became part of the permanent collection of the Baltimore Museum of Art.Also with us today is the director of the Mason Dixon Library - Carol Stampler. Carol has been Director of the Mason Dixon Library for 10 years and helped organize an exhibit of Mary’s work at the library which will be presented through January 24th.
