The latest on property tax reform in the state of Pennsylvania. What are the policy issues behind property tax reform at the state an local level? Should there even be reform? What are our options? Who pays and how much? This episode we will be talking to state representative and majority whip Keith McCall from Carbon County to try to get the pulse of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, his own view, and different views from around the state. Also to get a local perspective on the subject, we will also have Patrick Bishop and Margie Lavin from the South Eastern Tax Reform Coalition as well as Joel Sears of the York County Taxpayers Council and guest columnist with the York Daily Record. Join us as we try to navigate this seemingly intractable issue in the state of Pennsylvania!

CAFO stands for Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation. In our February episode, we will be talking about a proposed CAFO in Peach Bottom Township. We will try to separate fact from fiction on this controversial topic and hear why there is opposition to it and why those in favor of the hog farm feel some residents concerns are overblown and that not allowing the CAFO will hurt farming in southern York County and the state.

We will be speaking with Dr. Jay Graham – Independent Research Consultant with Johns Hopkins University Center for a Livable Future. Dr. Graham has received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Arkansas; an MBA from the University of Texas, and a Masters in Public Health from The University of Texas School of Public Health, and earned his Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health - Department of Environmental Health Sciences.
